Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes Resigns from Indian Premier League 2024, Citing Workload and Fitness as Causes Ben Stokes, an all-rounder for England, has declared himself out of commission for the 2024 Indian Premier League, citing worries over his fitness and workload. The decision was made in response to earlier statements made by Chennai Super Kings that they will decide on Stokes following the 2023 ODI World Cup.
The key causes of Stokes' unavailability, according to him and the Chennai Super Kings franchise, were workload and fitness. Stokes did not have a very impressive performance in the just finished ODI World Cup in India, and the England team also had difficulties. Stokes disclosed that he will have knee surgery after the World Cup. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Stokes will monitor the rehabilitation process, and that procedure will determine when he returns.
At a whooping 16.25 crores, Stokes was the most expensive player for CSK during the 2023 IPL season auction. But he only participated in two games, hitting 15 runs and bowling just one over because of a left knee ailment. His left knee condition, a chronic problem, forced him to start the tournament as a designated batsman. The knee problem has been bothering him for a while, but it became worse during England's tour of New Zealand earlier this year. Stephen Fleming, the coach of CSK, had said at the time that they would hold off on using Stokes for bowling responsibilities until he was fully prepared.
